Cora Schimke
Company Member
Cora Schimke is a native of De Soto, KS. She grew up dancing at Miller Marley School of Dance and Voice. Cora is a graduate from the University of Kansas with B.A.'s in Dance and Human Biology. She has trained in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, African Jazz, Classical East Indian and Flamenco. While at KU, Cora danced with the University Dance Company where she was able to work with many guest artists, including Regina Klenjoski, Lane Gifford, Autumn Eckman, Talia Beck, Meggi Sweeney, Carl Flink, and Jennifer Hart. She was fortunate to receive the Hamburg Scholarship, the Fine Arts Scholarship, the Elizabeth Sherbon Award, and the Jump Start Award from KU.
She was also a member and captain of the Rock Chalk Dancers from 2011-2015. In 2016, Cora was a guest artist for the University Dance Company, where she co-choreographed a work for the company to perform as part of their spring show. Cora has taught at numerous studios in the Kansas City area. This is Cora's first year as a performing apprentice with Inaside and she is extremely blessed and thankful for the opportunity and support!
