Meet the Artists
Preston Miller, a choreographer in New York City began his technical training under the direction of Randy Duncan and Anna Paskevska at the Chicago Academy for the Arts. He went on to attend and receive a BFA in dance from the Ailey/Fordham University B.F.A. program where he became the first student to receive a concentration in choreography and dance. Preston’s choreography has been performed by the ‘Bad Boys of Dance’, members of Ailey 2, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, William Forsythe Company, Lines Ballet, Complexions, as well as members of New York City Ballet.
Recently, Preston has extended his diversity by setting works on dancers from Kansas City Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Beyonce's Concert at Revel, and Alvin Ailey. In 2012, Preston became an adjunct faculty member of the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the United Artist Initiative. In 2013 UAI united Principal Dancers from Alvin Ailey, New York City Ballet, Complexions, & Remote Kontrol for a collaborative short film and documentary, choreographed by Mr. Miller.
