Eddy Ocampo

Eddy Ocampo

Eddy Ocampo was born and raised in Chicago, and has worked with such companies as the Joel Hall Dancers, River North Chicago Dance Company and Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago. He has worked with such choreographers as Gus Giordano, Randy Duncan, Frank Chavez, Sam Watson, Sherry Zunker, Harrison McEldowney and Liz Imperio, and has made guest appearances with many dance companies, as well as appeard in many television and film cameos. Eddy has served as school director of the Giordano Dance Center and director of Giordano II and the Giordano Merit Scholarship program.

His master teaching has brought him to Europe, Mexico, Canada, Russia and throughout the U.S. His works have been performed by Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, Odyssey Dance Company (Salt Lake City), Kannon Dance (St. Petersburg, Russia), Lisa Clark Dancers (San Francisco), Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Thodos Dance Chicago, Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre and many regional ballet companies across the U.S. In December 2004, Eddy received the Outstanding Choreographer award for Dance Chicago 2004 and the Cliff Dwellers Foundation Award for Outstanding Choreography in 2005 and 2007. He is the recipient and winner for the Eisenhower National Choreography Competition and the 2007 Leo’s International Jazz Choreography

Competitive Event, which he won with Talent Forum’s very own Forum Jazz Dance Theatre. He has been named as one of the best jazz dance teachers in the country by Dance Spirit Magazine and Dance Teacher Magazine, and was honored as Filipino American of the Year in 2005 by the Filipino Association of Chicago. This will be the beginning of Eddy’s 18th year teaching at Talent Forum, where he is currently Artistic Director of Forum Jazz Dance Theatre.
